The fifth National Divine Mercy Conference takes place today in Saint Augustine’s Church, Coatbridge, in the Diocese of Motherwell. The conference is hosted by the Friends Of Divine Mercy Scotland, who work tirelessly to promote the message of mercy in Scotland.
As well as the national conferences, the group also introduced the pioneering ‘Mercy Bus’ which travels the cities of Scotland inviting souls to return to the Lord. Most recently, they have opened the Divine Mercy shrine in Saint Mary’s Church, in the Diocese of Paisley. This is the Diocese in which the Friends Of Divine Mercy Scotland are based, and where they have great support from Bishop John Keenan, which was closely involved in the formation of the group.
This year’s Conference has the theme of forgiveness which is, of course, central to the message of Mercy. Speakers at the Conference include Dana, the well-known singer, and former prisoner and convert Anthony Gielty. As usual, there are various workshops – St John Paul and the New Evangelisation; From St Margaret Mary To St Faustina; The Secret To Keeping Satan At Bay; The Corporal And Spiritual Works Of Mercy; and others.
Hopefully the conference will be well attended and will prove to be a moment of great grace and mercy for all those taking part.
